Lakers rumors: D’Angelo Russell could be at odds if LA drafts Lonzo Ball
By Keith Rivas
The latest Lakers rumors look at what could become a serious problem in LA.
Drama is never fun between teammates if you’re on that particular team. It’s great for everyone else, usually, who gets to have a laugh over two players being at odds.

But this one might not be too funny to the Lakers.
Apparently, the former second overall pick liked a tweet calling for the Lakers to avoid Lonzo.
According to a report from SB Nation, the tweet said that there was “no way in hell” they should look to draft Ball.
Per the report:
"For Russell, this mindset makes total sense. The Lakers drafted him second overall in 2015 and two years later, he’s on the brink of playing second fiddle to a rookie guard. Many believe if Los Angeles indeed drafts its hometown product in Ball, Russell’s tenure in Lakerland is as good as done."
It’s not the first time that Russell has been at the center of interesting comments or thoughts. Following a previous escapade with Nick Young over leaking details of his personal life, some teammates took it personal and labelled him as a snitch.
The distance that the incident with Young created was visible both on and off the floor. If the Lakers do draft Lonzo Ball, some believe that Russell could still thrive as a shooting guard.
But it seems like maybe that’s not what Russell wants. While fans came to believe in him after his drafting in 2015, he may have to play elsewhere to be happy.
Should that come to pass, it would be a major blow to the young core that the Lakers have been building up. D’Angelo Russell was supposed to be their point guard of the future, but giving up on him now could backfire.
Next: Chances Of Trading Each Player
But we won’t know more on how that’ll unfold until the draft.
