Lakers free agency rumors: Three reasons they should pursue Derrick Rose

With Rose falling off the map the way that he has after his MVP season in Chicago, it’s hard to see why he was such a big deal to New York. After the Knicks traded for him, injury yet again claimed his season too early.

Playing in Los Angeles, Rose would be on his third team and his third major market. Despite the injuries, he’s not had to play for a small market team at all.
Boston, New York, and then Los Angeles is a marketing opportunity he wouldn’t pass up — especially with the potential to turn things around.
The Lakers need to work on getting players in while they can still serve the right purpose. Bad examples of that are the previous acquisitions of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard.
While both superstar talents overall, they did not mesh well under the brights lights in LA.
Also, just last season they used Lou Williams to the best of his abilities and it paid huge dividends. Giving Rose one more shot to prove himself on a big market team is best for both sides involved.
Especially if he comes through.
