The 2017 NBA Draft is shaping up to be one of the most interesting drafts in recent memory.

The 2017 NBA Draft will have the two most prestigious NBA franchises with the first two selections. The Boston Celtics earned the number one overall pick, while the Los Angeles Lakers earned the second overall pick for the third year in a row.

Former UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball is one of the many NBA prospects in the 2017 NBA Draft. Lonzo Ball has been a hot topic with the draft arriving shortly.

There has been plenty of stories of where Ball will land. Some stories include he will land with the Lakers, yet then there are stories that say LA wants nothing to do with Lonzo. Nonetheless, many Lakers rumors include Lonzo Ball.

However, what if I told you Boston would snag Ball with the number one overall pick? I already know your reactions. Your reactions are all different.

LA doesn’t need Ball although that is the only team he will work out for. Boston needs a future point guard behind Isaiah Thomas, or even to replace Thomas and his shoddy defense.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Ball would be a good fit behind Thomas as he can sustain the game flow. Boston selecting Ball would renew the Lakers/Celtics rivalry. This is what the rivalry needs.

There have bene plenty of other Lakers rumors on who they would take over Lonzo if Boston were to draft him, just because. LA has worked out many other prospects. In this year’s draft, there hasn’t been one specific player who stands out from the rest as the best.

They all are great with their individual skills sets. That is what makes this year’s draft class unique.

Lonzo Ball to Celtics makes sense in some sort of way and it would renew the rivalry as I mentioned earlier. LA needs a defensive player while Boston needs an offensive player. Ball is known for his offense and well his defense, let’s just say needs improvement.

Los Angeles would be better off without Ball, while Boston could benefit from selecting him. Also, just because he won’t workout for any team other than the Lakers doesn’t mean the Celtics or any team can’t draft him.
