Closing Thoughts

While the Warriors had the individual position advantage (3-2), having a better point guard and center could turn out to be the only things that mattered. Think of it this way, for a moment.

If Curry can’t figure out a good scoring rhythm and the Warriors don’t stand a chance of stopping the Lakers’ big man, how are they going to function the rest of the way?

Klay, Kevin, and Draymond could carry Golden State to a couple wins, possibly even three if Los Angeles had an off night, but they wouldn’t win the series.

Magic Johnson recently said that he thinks his generation of Lakers would sweep the current Golden State team. That is a bold proclamation to make, but from the looks of it, the series would at least go six games.

Fans would love to see a Game 7 between them, but who wouldn’t?

At the end of the discussion, the Lakers happened to be better at the two positions that the Warriors need to be the best in for them to actually excel. Having a good shooting guard and the better forwards do nothing if the guy bringing the ball up and running your offense isn’t better than who’s guarding him.

Just that simple.
