Closing Thoughts

Now that we know there’s no low expectations with this front office, it’ll be interesting to see if this is indeed the fire under the belly that some of the players needed.

None more necessary of a change in play than Julius Randle. The hope is that he’s bound for a breakout year with the team. After getting into great shape earlier this summer, Los Angeles could finally get what they drafted him for.

The seventh overall pick from 2014, Randle is also rumored to be on the block and could be part of a package deal before the draft is over.

Additionally, these changes show just how important securing the second overall pick was for the team. Moving forward, they are likely to expect their pick — who, for all intents and purposes, is likely to be Lonzo Ball — to be that franchise point guard.

Big things coming for the purple and gold, but we’ll have to wait and see if the Lopez trade will be what’s best in terms of raw value on the floor.
