Minnesota Timberwolves

Another team with a young core in place is the Timberwolves. Minnesota selects seventh in this year’s draft, and it’d take a shocking fall for Ball to land here.

If that were to happen, Minnesota would find their guy that can replace Ricky Rubio. Young and athletic, he’d fit in well surrounded by Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.

In order for the Timberwolves to change their team trajectory, a passer like Ball could shift their focus completely. With him, Towns is getting more looks down low, Wiggins could work on other aspects of his game, and they won’t feel like they’re stretching anything.

Additionally, they may be one of the few teams that could silence LaVar.

Going to Minnesota wouldn’t be completely easy for Lonzo. It gives him less of an edge in the sense that he’s not playing for his hometown team, and now he’s got an even bigger chip on his shoulder.

Depending on if he steps up or not will correlate with how much LaVar keeps talking.
