NBA Free Agency: Three players that the Lakers are reportedly talking to
By Keith Rivas
Andre Iguodala
Coming fresh off another NBA title with Golden State, Andre Iguodala seems ready to venture elsewhere. While a luxury tax situation complicates things with the Warriors, the Lakers would love a solid veteran like him.
Iguodala wasn’t a quiet piece to the puzzle in Golden State, either. He’s a versatile player, and can help you at shooting guard and small forward.

The way he’d fit in with the Lakers would be tremendous. If the Lakers were to sign him in NBA free agency, it would mean that they are getting the best bang for their buck.
Without D’Angelo Russell to try out for a full season at shooting guard, the Lakers would have to stretch their options. Right now, it’d be Jordan Clarkson and David Nwaba at the two, but Iguodala would be a solid contributor off the bench or as a starter.
Also, he’d be the kind of veteran presence the Lakers have been looking for and tried to force unsuccessfully with Luol Deng and Timofey Mozgov.
This acquisition would get an A+ grade, and would change how Los Angeles plays next season almost immediately. It’s not that it’ll make them instant contenders, they may need a little more for that to happen, but it gets them well over the 30 win threshold.
