Closing Thoughts

Right now, it would make sense for the Lakers front office to go after another shooting or point guard for a couple of reasons. Lonzo Ball has a lot of potential and hype, but nobody knows how his rookie season will really go.

Even early on, we won’t know the path he’s on until well into the regular season. Some of these free agency options could be back up plans, while others can be solid bench players.

All in all, this front office has made it clear that it wants their young players to excel. That means being able to put pieces around them in order to succeed, and also grooming their own talent to reach their potential in the league.

It would not be overwhelmingly surprising if Magic Johnson picked up any of these guys mentioned in this piece. They all bring different aspects of the game with them, and two of three are strong veteran players.
