CHICAGO, IL – JULY 02: Jose Quintana – Dodgers Rumors /

This trade between the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers would undoubtedly be the trade of the summer. I will go out on a limb and say if the Dodgers pulled off a trade of this caliber they would easily become the favorites to win the World Series if they already aren’t.

More from Dodgers Rumors

Jose Quintana is last real trade bait the Chicago White Sox have. Sure, they do have Todd Frazier that can turn some heads, but his average has hit rock bottom and his home runs don’t quite make up for it. With the White Sox undergoing a massive rebuild, they may be hard pressed to trade Quintana.

Quintana has number one stuff and has an excellent contract. With Andrew Friedman valuing the importance of managing contracts, Quintana is a perfect fit. Sure, Quintana has struggled this season, but pitching in the NL will only help him. He has the ability to be a star, and he can blossom to that in LA.

Add in a fantastic right fielder in Avisail Garcia and the Dodgers are set for a World Series push. Garcia is batting .317 with 11 home runs and 51 RBIs, and most importantly, has batted .423 against left-handed pitching.

In a realistic situation, the Dodgers would likely also have to give up top prospect Alex Verdugo, but it would be worth it. Los Angeles has done a great job in maintaining their farm, but it is time to make that huge push to October. Take the risk.

Overall, the Dodgers rumors will not stop until the team lives up to its potential and wins the World Series. Yasiel Puig is merely a spoke in that wheel.
