Brandon Ingram will improve, drastically

Brandon Ingram has the potential to be a superstar next season, despite how unlikely that may seem. While Ingram certainly was not a failure during his rookie campaign, it is safe to say that the fans and the Lakers organization were expecting more out of the 2016 second overall pick. However, Ingram still is only nineteen years old and we should see him slowly take form into what he can be.

Don’t get me wrong, Ingram will not compete for an MVP next season and lead the Lakers to the NBA Championship in convincing fashion. The NBA does not work that way, very rarely do you see a rookie come into the league and insert himself into the discussion for the best there is. These things take time, unlike a Mike Trout or Bryce Harper scenario in baseball.

We will see a drastic improvement in Ingram’s performance next season. Ingram should be able to up his scoring around the fifteen per game mark and should aim for five rebounds and three assists. Again, not the most incredible numbers, but definitely an improvement from his 9.4 points per game last season.

Ingram certainly has much more talent around him now than last season, directly helping his potential. There is a new point guard in town, and he will make his team better; including Ingram.
