The latest Clippers news suggest it might not be all bad for LA next season.

With plenty of talk going on about how the Lakers will perform, there are more questions than answers still for the Los Angeles Clippers. Losing three of their key starters, it’ll be a whole new look built around DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin.

if it weren’t for a miraculous save, Jordan might also be on another team in Texas. Luckily for them, they don’t have that to worry about.

One of the players acquired in the Chris Paul trade this summer was Patrick Beverley. The talented point guard is a veteran who knows the ins and outs of the game as good as anybody.

He’s known for his terrific defense, but with the right weapons, he could step up as the leader on the offensive side of the ball. Blake Griffin is going to also need to be a reliable source of scoring for the Clippers. Beverley’s energy will match well with Griffin’s almost right away, so long as there is no off the court drama or issues.

Griffin has had a handful lately, including an incident with a team staffer that resulted in an injury.

Outside of him Beverley will have plenty of other new options to work with on the floor. One interesting addition that the Clippers did make was Danilo Gallinari. Playing well enough to garner interest from multiple teams while with the Denver Nuggets, Gallinari can be a threat from deep as well as close range.

Beverley himself has the capability to make or break the next season for the Clippers. After making the playoffs and a strong regular season, there’s no telling what could come of things without Chris Paul in the picture.

Ultimately, this will come down to how a guy like Beverley will fit into a system run by head coach Doc Rivers. The mentality has to be all or nothing, and Beverley’s clear cut desire for a better role than what he was offered in Houston speaks for itself.
