Chargers have chance to take over LA if they win on MNF
By Keith Rivas
For the Chargers, starting the season with a win in Denver would mean the world.
After struggling to sell enough tickets to fill a soccer stadium — much smaller arena than their home in San Diego, mind you — it seems that the Chargers are left with not many options. Winning games would leave it all on the field, and it’s hard to argue with victories, even if they’re ugly.
Each game between the Broncos and Chargers ended with an eight point differential. The Chargers won on their home field and the Broncos defended their turf.
While neither team may be a serious playoff threat in the upcoming season, it’s only fair that the Chargers get their chance. The Rams didn’t take the spotlight well in their first game removed from St. Louis since the 90’s, losing badly to the 49ers.

If a win is in the cards for the Bolts, fans in Southern California will at the very least become more interested. This leads into their first home game of the regular season as they host the Miami Dolphins.
You’ll be able to tell based on attendance and the overall vibe in StubHub Center as to whether or not leaving San Diego was the right decision. Following the game versus Miami, they stay home for two more weeks as they host the Chiefs and Eagles.
Opening on the right foot matters more to the Chargers than it did to the Rams last season. That’s fairly obvious, but the reason is because the they didn’t necessarily handle the move the right way.

Keeping the Raiders out of Los Angeles, it’s now up to the Chargers and Rams to not less a massive fan base down. The NFL hasn’t had a scenario like this ever before, and it’d be a shame to see them make fools of themselves.
