Week 26

Final. 121. 20. 113. 169

(44-37)

Not only do the Lakers manage to make it a few games above the .500 mark, but they win their 44th game in a shootout with a top team in their conference right before the postseason begins. Thankfully, the Lakers aren’t fighthing for a playoff spot — they’re already in it. This gives them the confidence they need to finish strong in their last home game of the season.

20. Final. 103. 77. 100

(44-38)

In their season finale, the Lakers will finish the same way they started. A loss to the Clippers at Staples Center, but that doesn’t bite them too hard as they have their playoff spot locked up by now. As for the Clippers, the win shows that they’re not all that irrelevant just yet — but the fact that they couldn’t outshine the Lakers says more than enough.
