For the Los Angeles Angels, tonight’s victory over the Texas Rangers places them one game back of the second wild-card spot in the American League.

The Los Angeles Angels seem to be hanging on to a thread to make the playoffs. They need to worry about themselves and no one else.

Although I am sure they are worried about the Minnesota Twins. While the Twins lost the Angels were able to take advantage and win their games. However, they are still one game back. Therefore they need to just worry about themselves and focus on winning the rest of their games.

During this time of year when they Angels have a chance of making the playoffs, it is difficult to tell what the end result will be for them. Hence, why they need to win the rest of their games and take care of business.

It isn’t like they don’t have the players in order to make a playoff push, yet make the playoffs. Star pitcher Garrett Richards has returned and the Angels acquired others before the trade deadline. Let us not forget they do have one of the most prominent baseball players of his time on the team in outfielder Mike Trout.

Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Garrett Richards, Kole Calhoun, Brandon Phillips, and Justin Upton are the prominent players on the Angels. They need these players to lead the team to the playoffs. If they are to make the playoffs they will need assistance from others to lead as well.

More from Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels need to keep winning with the way they played defense against the Rangers. They were able to shut out the Texas Rangers. Along with their defense, their offense will need to come through in the clutch. They have proven they can do this time and time again. Not only that but they proved they can do it without their star players as well.

This proves the Angels have all the capabilities of making a playoff push if they get in. Tonight they had fewer at-bats but were able to produce off of those 26 at-bats.

Also, they had four hits, two RBIs, five walks, and five strikeouts. They even left nine on base which means they could have scored more runs. By scoring more runs it would have made this game seem more dominant.

The Los Angeles Angels have trusted their bullpen and they have been proving themselves by winning games. They perform well under pressure, they are like diamonds shining under pressure.

It is too close to say anything but the Los Angeles Angels must continue to win if they expect to make the postseason. They are so close, yet so far.
