8. Lucius Allen

Lucius Allen took over the point guard position from the number two guy on this list, and is his very short time as a Laker, he played great. Allen was on the Lakers for two and a half seasons, being traded to the Lakers from the Bucks in the 1974-75 season. That season would wind up being the best in Allen’s career.

In that campaign, the point guard averaged 19.1 points, 5.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game. As a Laker that year, Allen averaged 19.5 points, 5.7 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. Overall, Allen averaged 16.0 points, 5.1 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game as a Laker.

Allen did not take home any accolades in his entire career, let alone as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. In his 11-year career, the biggest accomplishment Allen had was being a member of the 1970-71 NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks, although his role at that time was limited as he was not yet blossomed into a starting caliber point guard.

Overall, Allen another name that not many Laker faithful, outside of the die-hard historians, will likely remember. While Allen did not accomplish much accolade-wise for the Lakers, he did play well in his short stint with the team and deserves some form of recognition. However, there are still seven other point guards better than Allen.
