The Cleveland Cavaliers are already a super team. According to the latest Clippers rumors, which entail a DeAndre Jordan trade, they could get even better.

DeAndre Jordan is one half of a great frontcourt for the Los Angeles Clippers. Jordan also could be leaving the organization he has called home his entire career. Again: could be. The latest Clippers rumors have emerged stating that the team finally listened to any trade proposals for Jordan around the NBA Draft.

However, the reports also indicate that the Clippers are so in love with DeAndre Jordan that they are also considering extension talks. Jordan has two years left under contract with a player option after this season. Realistically, Jordan can leave after this season if he wanted.

We all remember what happened last time Jordan tried leaving the Los Angeles Clippers.

The organization is obviously in love with Jordan and what he brings to the table. Jordan is one of the best centers in the NBA and is the proud owner of the highest career shooting percentage. Although he cannot knock down a free throw to save a life, his consistent physical play down low leads to high percentage shots, rebounds and blocks.

Last season, Jordan averaged 13.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game as well as posting a career-high 71.4% shooting percentage.

This play certainly is great and the Clippers are justified in wanting to hold onto Jordan. However, there is no guarantees at this point that the star will stay. So, the team may be best suited in trading him while they can to look towards the future.

The perfect move for the future? A trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers. On the surface, it seems crazy, but in reality, this move is great for both sides.

How isn’t this trade one of the evenest deals for both sides? This has to be the most practical trade scenario that has been pitched in any Clippers rumors.

The Los Angeles Clippers would be sacrificing DeAndre Jordan, but what they would be getting back is of a far greater value. Tristan Thompson has been moved to the bench in favor of Kevin Love. Yet. Thompson is still pretty talented and has a lot to prove. Cedi Osman is only in there to balance contracts.

The Nets’ 2018 first round pick is the focal point of this trade. This pick essentially is guaranteed to be in the top five, so the Clippers could bring in a young superstar to build around Blake Griffin.

As for the Cavaliers, they fix their size problem of having Kevin Love at center. Although they could just move Love back to the four and start Thompson, the team would rather have the defense of Jae Crowder while keeping Dwayne Wade in the starting lineup.

However, bringing in a talent like Jordan would allow the Cavaliers to comfortable move Crowder to a lesser role off the bench LeBron James is hungry for rings; the only real piece missing is a dominant center.

James does not want to play with rebuilding talent, we saw that with Andrew Wiggins. Cleveland flipped Wiggins for Love, creating the Cleveland big three that we know and love today. Jordan is certainly a player of Love’s caliber and does merit the draft pick. With this deal, the Cavaliers have the perfect lineup to outmatch the Golden State Warriors.

Next: Lou Williams will be traded before the NBA Trade Deadline

Although it may be sad to see DeAndre Jordan’s name in the latest Clippers rumors, it is for the best. If LA can get a solid center and a high draft pick out of one year of Jordan’s services, why not trade him away?
