3. DeAndre Jordan can walk after this season if he wants

The biggest and most obvious reason for trading DeAndre Jordan is simple: the Clippers have no long-term commitment from the big man. With the current state of affairs, Jordan may recognize it is his time to get out and leave the Clippers without the team getting anything out of Jordan.

Jordan likely understands the previous two premises of this slideshow. First, he knows that unless the team brings in a star, they will not have a chance to win anything. However, with the big contracts of Blake Griffin, himself and Danilo Galllinari the chances of landing a star next offseason is slim.

Plus, Jordan also knows how much value he can bring to a championship contending team. If he hits the free agent market, he will likely get overpaid by some team with cap space and actually have a chance to go after a championship.

Jordan is under contract for two more seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers. With a player option after this year, Jordan could walk if he really wants to. Everything is in his favor if he does decide to walk away from the Clippers, so why would he stay without any true incentives?

Los Angeles needs to get something out of DeAndre Jordan. As the season goes along, the Clippers are in the perfect position to actually get an overpriced return out of Jordan. It would be foolish for the team to pass this up and trade him in a sign and trade deal that results in a lesser return.

Overall, the Clippers news of Jordan getting traded at some point throughout this season seems inevitable. At least, it should be for these three factors.
