If the Los Angeles Chargers have enough in them to take down the Denver Broncos in Week 7, things will get chaotic in the AFC West from here on out.

For right now, it’s unfortunate that the tenure the Los Angeles Chargers have had this season since moving from San Diego in the summer has gone the way that it has. Nobody wants to start their season with four straight losses, but the Chargers have seemed to get out of that funk.

Since their fourth loss of the year, Los Angeles has garnered wins over both Oakland and New York. The Giants weren’t really a problem for the Chargers, and Los Angeles was able to escape the game against Oakland, winning by one point.

The reason their Week 7 clash with Denver is the most important game of the season is simple. For starters, the win gets them to 3-4 and more in the thick of things. Oakland won Thursday night against Kansas City on the final play of the game, but a win puts the Chargers on their level at 3-4.

Also, a loss for the Broncos drops them to .500, and a 3-3 record. Kansas City would obviously still hold the keys to the division, but with just one more win you can see how much good that would do for the Chargers.

Factor into all of this that in three of their four losses, the Chargers were a field goal away from overtime or a win. The only loss that is really indefensible would be their Week 2 game against Miami.

In the games that Los Angeles lost against Denver, Kansas City, and Philadelphia, there’s almost a little bit of wiggle room to give them the benefit of the doubt. At the time, Denver came storming out of the gate, Kansas City has remained hot as well, and the Eagles are playing as the prime of the NFC right now.

A win by Philip Rivers and company in Week 7 gives them all the advantage they need in terms of momentum moving forward.
