By Jamaal Artis
1. Kirk Gibson
"“High fly ball into right field, she i-i-i-is… GONE!!!”-Vin Scully “Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run!!! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, five to four; I don’t believe what I just saw!!!”-Jack Buck"
It was named among baseball greatest moments, it was voted the greatest moment in Los Angeles Sports history, and it is the greatest World Series moment in Dodgers history. As a child I could re-enact it as an adult i could tell you every moment of every play that lead up to it.

Kirk Gibson’s ninth-inning walk-off home run off of Oakland Athletics closer Dennis Eckersley in game one of the 1988 series was so unbelievable as if it were scripted movie Hollywood would have thrown out the script as unbelievable.
But it really happened Kirk Gibson with two injured legs the Dodgers MVP all season stepped up to the plate with two outs and a man on first facing Eckersley who had 45 saves as the A’s closer. The moment when Gibson stunned the A’s with a one-handed swing depositing the ball in the right field pavilion is ingrained in all Dodgers fans minds.
With his fist pumping moment Gibson put the Dodgers on his back gave the team a series lead they would never relinquish on the way to a stunning five game series win. It is the Dodgers greatest World Series moment.
