Los Angeles Rams: Predicting the rest of the season after a bye week
By Jason Reed
Weeks 15-17
-
Week 15: at Seattle Seahawks (5-2)
In typical Seahawks fashion, Russell Wilson and company have turned a slow start into a 5-2 record and a first place spot in the NFC West. It all started with the team’s 16-10 win over the Rams, in which the Rams were actually favored.
At this point of the year, the Seahawks likely own a 9-4 record, one game better than the Rams. This game could decide the NFC West Champions, and even a first-round bye. The Rams always seem to beat Seattle at least once, so expect a second-half rally to pull off a climatic overtime victory. 20-17, Rams.
Week 16: at Tennessee Titans (4-3)

I cannot tell if the Tennessee Titans are good or not. Before the season, many expected them to be the dark horse team that somehow makes a run to the AFC Championship game. Yet inconsistent performances have led to many question marks around the Titans.
Out of all the games the rest of the season, this is the hardest to call. The two teams are similar talent-wise and both present question marks. However, simply because of their home field advantage and playoff hopes likely hanging in the balance, it is hard to see Tennessee lose. 38-34, Titans.

Week 17: vs San Francisco 49ers (0-8)
The 49ers may be winless, but I think they finish the second half of the season with at least two wins. With Jimmy Garoppolo now under center, the Rams have a viable leader to change the fortunes around. With the Browns likely getting the first overall pick, the 49ers will not be tanking and will be looking to ruin some playoff chances.
The team very well could do that in week 17. Depending on how the NFC plays out, the playoffs could be hanging in the balance at this point of the season. If the Rams playoff place is already decided no matter the result, the team may start the second unit and the 49ers could walk away with a victory.
However, we are going to assume that is not the case. For the sake of this, let’s assume this is a must-win for the Rams. Therefore, they will pull away late with a lead. 28-17, Rams.
Next: Rams prove they are for real
Final record: 10-6. With a 10-6 record, the Los Angeles Rams will make their first postseason since 2004. Although the rest of the schedule does seem promising for the Rams, anything can still happen. So buckle up and get ready for a fun nine weeks of football.
