Up 3-1 with a chance to eliminate the Chicago Cubs just as the Cubs had eliminated them the year before. The Dodgers quickly put the game out of reach by scoring seven runs in the first two innings. The big blow came in the third inning, with a 2-0 lead Enrique “Kiké” Hernandez came up with the bases loaded and hit a grand slam effectively ending the game.
Hernandez would hit three home runs and drive in an LCS record seven runs as the Dodgers clinched the series in an 11-1 win game. It was another moment in a great year that saw the Dodgers win 104 games and play a memorable seven-game World Series.
Although the Dodgers ultimately lost the World Series to the Astros, the team finally reached the coveted World Series stage that had alluded them since 1988. Now, with experience on their side, the sky is the limit for the Dodgers in 2018.
