2. Cleveland Browns — First and Fourth Overall Selection

The Cleveland Browns hold all the power over Josh Rosen’s career, period. With the first overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Browns have the power to choose any prospect they so please. Whether that is Rosen, Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield is yet to be seen. At the end of the day, Rosen has no choice whether or not he becomes a Brown.

At the very least Rosen would be able to get reps as early as his rookie campaign, something that would not be possible for the first team on this list. DeShone Kizer stands in Rosen’s way as the only true competition to the starting job; a competition that Rosen would easily win. With Josh Gordon and Duke Johnson Jr., Rosen would have some decent tools at his disposal in Cleveland.

Although the Browns do hold the power to draft Rosen, it would be a shame to see a talent like Rosen end up on the Cleveland Browns. Rosen has so much marketability behind him and has all the workings of being a superstar NFL quarterback. As many already know, Cleveland is the place that quarterbacks go to die.

However, the possibility is still there that Rosen breaks this quarterback mold and becomes the guy that finally makes the Cleveland Browns relevant. The Browns need that kind of superstar that the organization can rally behind in order to become respectable once more.

Josh Rosen definitely is that kind of superstar and he may be exactly what the Browns need. However, what ultimately holds this partnership back is that the Browns are not what Rosen needs.
