The best (and most realistic) fits for Josh Rosen in the 2018 NFL Draft
By Jason Reed
1. New York Giants — Second Overall Selection
The New York Football Giants have the second overall selection in the 2018 NFL after finishing with a 3-13 record. This was the first time since 1984 in which the Giants won just three or fewer games and caps off a five-year stretch in which the Giants finished under .500 in four of said seasons.
It is safe to say that the Eli Manning era is coming to a close in New York and that is perfectly fine. Instead of promptly booting him out though, the Giants owe the veteran one last chance at chasing Super Bowl gold. With two seasons left on Manning’s contract, the Giants need a guy that can sit and take over the reigns when ready.

That guy is Josh Rosen, hence why the ties to the New York Giants have been so heavy.
Eli Manning still has something left to give the New York Giants. With his receiving core back and a hopefully improved line, Manning can return back to Pro Bowl caliber. Then, Rosen can learn behind the two-time Super Bowl champion like Aaron Rodgers did with Brett Favre. Not only does Manning get his last chance at glory, he gets to cement his impact on the Giants for years to come.
Rosen then gets to enter a system where he does not need to be the savior right away and instead can learn the ropes. Rookie quarterbacks very rarely hit the ground running and it may be best suited for Rosen to ease into an everyday role.
With the second overall selection and no other gaping need this high in the draft, selecting Rosen to fill that role is the most logical choice for the New York Giants.

And for Rosen it only makes sense. While NFL fans may not be able to see Rosen lighting up the scoreboard in his rookie year, they won’t see Rosen’s talents dwindle away as they may on the Cleveland Browns.
