Lakers: Three reasons why Paul George is not the answer
By Jason Reed
3. The Lakers already have their answer in LeBron James
The future of the Los Angeles Lakers is LeBron James, well, hopefully. Nothing is guaranteed in basketball and all of these LeBron-Lakers talk could result in nothing happening. However, there has just been too much evidence to ignore that LeBron may be heading to Los Angeles.

And he is the perfect star to build around, not Paul George. James is the greatest basketball player on the planet and may be the second-best all-time behind Michael Jordan. Why wouldn’t the Lakers want that on their roster?
Speculation started in the summer. James sent out cryptic tweets, he attended a Lakers’ Summer League game instead of a Cavaliers’. NBA executives gave three realistic reasons why LeBron wanted to come to Los Angeles. He pulled his jersey over his mouth to hide whatever he was saying to Lonzo Ball after their first encounter.
James senses the massive market of Los Angeles. Some of the best to ever lace ’em up hang in the rafters at the Staples Center. Why wouldn’t LeBron want to join that legendary list? Why wouldn’t LeBron want to prove all of his doubters wrong, proving he can win in the West?
The Los Angeles Lakers are the perfect team to propel LeBron’s legacy. If LeBron fails yet again in Cleveland, what is stopping him from becoming the first all-star to win three rings on three different teams?
