Offensive MVP: Todd Gurley

  • 279 attempts, 1305 yards, 13 touchdowns, 64 receptions, 788 yards, six receiving touchdowns

Who else could it have really been? Todd Gurley was nothing short of phenomenal in the 2017 season and will challenge for the MVP award with Carson Wentz and Tom Brady. While not playing game 16 may hurt his chances (as his chances rely on his insane stats) Gurley still rebounded from a sophomore slump to put together one of the best all-around seasons from a running back.

Gurley was huge not only in the running game for the Los Angeles Rams but was crucial in Jared Goff’s passing game. He led the team in total receptions as well as finishing second in receiving yards behind Cooper Kupp. Overall, Gurley finished 36th in the league in total receiving yards and trailed just Alvin Kamara for running backs.

Gurley’s biggest accomplishment of the 2017 season was breaking the 2000 yards from scrimmage plateau. Gurley led the entire league in yards per scrimmage last season and was the only player to break the 2000 yard mark. Overall, Gurley’s 2,093 yards from scrimmage is the 46th most in a single season all-time.

Gurley’s great rebound from his second season was a big part of the Rams rebound from their 4-12 record. When Gurley succeeds, the rest of the team succeeds and 2017 was the perfect telling tale of that. If the Rams want to be successful in the future, it may bank on the performance from Todd Gurley.
