Clippers Rumors: Three more realistic trades for Blake Griffin
By Jason Reed
This trade would be an absolute blockbuster. In fact, if this deal happened it may be the biggest NBA trade in a very long time. Forget Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics, forget DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans. This would be huge.
The Cleveland Cavaliers’ time with LeBron James is running out. Every report indicates that James will again pack his bags and take his talents elsewhere after this season. Thus, especially with Kevin Durant on the Golden State Warriors, the Cavaliers need to add every star piece they can get.

They definitely get all of that with this deal. They get an improvement at power forward from Kevin Love (who hasn’t meshed well with LeBron, anyway) to Blake Griffin. At center, they get a brand new starter in DeAndre Jordan. After this deal, the Cavaliers would have four all-stars in the starting five, much like the Warriors.
Even better, if LeBron does leave the Cavs do not have to strip it all down as they can build around Blake Griffin. For the Clippers, they get a guy in Kevin Love that keeps them relevant now, a young center in Tristan Thompson that has a lot of promise and the Nets’ unprotected draft pick.
Los Angeles would be slightly worse this year because of this trade. Their record could fall, and they could find themselves in the eight-10 range for a draft pick. The Nets pick would put them in the five-eight range. Two top ten picks? Two promising stars or even a trade package to land the number one overall pick.

This trade is huge. It makes sense for both sides and this trade makes the NBA Finals much more interesting. Sign me up.
