The latest Lakers rumors are all about the lineup switches that need to happen after the All-Star break.

So the Los Angeles Lakers are approaching the mid-season break, and with that, they need to recognize that their time to adjust is now. This moment. This season. This side of Lonzo Ball’s rookie season.

In order for the plan coming from management to get the franchise back to the top of the basketball world to actually work out, they cannot afford to just be all talk. The louder they get, the louder some of their worst nightmares get from the sideline.

And free agents, along with their agents, are all listening — and they’re waiting for LA to do something about it.

In all seriousness, Magic Johnson cannot expect a single free agent to sign with his team over the summer, even Paul George as strong as the rumors might be, if they don’t handle the LaVar Ball situation immediately and convincingly and if they don’t put themselves in a position to push for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference this season.

Some might say the best way to put the team in that position is to make a blockbuster trade for a guy like George or even DeMarcus Cousins — but that’s not the only route for LA to take.

Not everyone is going to be on board with the kind of changes that will suite them best in the scenario that they’re in, but it’s important to keep in mind that the Lakers — and they should know this more than anybody else in the league — have to sometimes deal with things not going their way.

With that in mind, here’s three roster changes that can give Los Angeles that extra push they need to attack the second half of the season in a way nobody will see coming.
