It starts and stops with the ammo from LaVar Ball

As best as I can remember, there has yet to really be a presence in professional sports as unique as LaVar Ball. There’s some things to love about the guy, especially when it comes to heart and determination, but that can also cross a line and make things more about an ego or persona than it really should.

Trading for Walker might substantially help the team out, but in making their first transaction under the Ball era, they better be ready for anything that Lonzo’s dad will be throwing at them.

Because to think that he’d really not say anything is just silly.

More from LA Sports Hub

We have to keep in mind that it’s what the Lakers willingly signed up for by drafting Lonzo second overall this last summer, and nobody held a gun to their head telling them they had to do it. Voluntarily putting themselves in this position means that they hopefully thought of what it will mean for times like these when they really need to make a move.

It’s only a matter of time before dealing Clarkson and/or Randle gets a comment from Ball that was waiting to find its way out into the open.

What he might have to say about Walker might not sit well with the former top ten draft selection, and that’s a concern for the locker room. It’s bad enough that the biggest question mark moving forward for this Lakers team is chemistry, and the worst part of it all is that it will remain an unsolved issue until Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka stop taking baby steps with LaVar.

On the flip side, in an attempt to really try and see the silver lining here, we could get a totally unexpected reaction from LaVar Ball — a pleasant one, at that. Deep down, it seems as though all he wants is for the Lakers to succeed as long as it comes while his son plays under purple and gold.

But really though, don’t hold your breath.
