Trade option #2:

This is a pretty massive trade package to give up for just two players. In the end, though, this would more than be worth it for the Los Angeles Lakers. While the first deal was heavily in favor of the Lakers, this deal is more even for both sides and would accomplish multiple things for both the Lakers and the Hornets.

Los Angeles is again sending Clarkson and Caldwell-Pope in this deal for the same reasons they would trade them in the first deal. However, also included in this trade package is the power forward duo of Larry Nance Jr. and Julius Randle.

Randle has been the center of Lakers Rumors (alongside Jordan Clarkson) for months now. Hypothetical trade situations have been presented as Randle is a restricted free agent following this year and does not follow the Lakers’ salary plan. If Randle were to sign a larger deal with another team, Nance is thrown into the mix to give the Hornets something to look forward to.

The gap that Nance and Randle would leave behind is filled by Marvin Williams, who would back up Kyle Kuzma. Williams was named as one of the potential trade chips by Dan Favale of Bleacher Report. In this deal, the Hornets are getting significantly better — AND cheaper — at power forward.

Los Angeles would still have space to bring in another star and the Hornets would create a solid young core to build around with draft picks.
