UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen is the biggest name out of Westwood to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft. Joining him, though, is one of his blockers, Kolton Miller.

Josh Rosen may be the most intriguing name coming out of UCLA in the 2018 NFL Draft, but Kolton Miller is close behind. The offensive tackle protected Rosen all season, turning in a fantastic performance that will carry over to a high draft stock in the draft. Miller is one of the best offensive tackles in the draft class and may be a force immediately in the NFL.

Miller certainly has the size to succeed at the NFL level. ESPN has Miller at six-foot-eight and 310 pounds. Miller’s height, along with his athleticism, is perfect at either guard spot in the NFL and leaves no worries for NFL scouts.

Miller’s biggest area of strength is in his pass-blocking. His size, mixed with his speed, allows Miller to absorb opposing defensive ends and protect his quarterback. In the run game, Miller was certainly above average at the college level and fares to be average at worst in the NFL.

Really, the only thing lacking from Miller experience. Miller only played five games in 2016, at right tackle, before suffering an injury that would sit him out the rest of the year. Upon his return, Miller made the transition from left tackle to right tackle; giving him 13 games at the position.

For some NFL teams that may be a question mark. Some may be unsure if Miller is ready to be an NFL left tackle. However, his size and athleticism will at least carry him early on before NFL coaching irons out the kinks, if there are any.

Quite frankly, there is not much bad to say about Miller. Mel Kiper has Miller going 30th overall to the Philadelphia Eagles in his first mock draft. Miller would work perfectly in the passing offense of Philly; as he also would with the likes of the Rams, Vikings and even Patriots.

All in all, Kolton Miller’s name should be called on the first day of the 2018 NFL Draft. Miller has all the tools to succeed at the next level. Now, it is just a matter of who gets to claim those skills.
