The latest Lakers trade rumors to know before the deadline

The Cleveland Cavaliers could be Jordan Clarkson’s new home
The Cleveland Cavaliers are in some deep trouble that requires some moves to be made before the NBA Trade Deadline. Acquiring DeAndre Jordan is the biggest rumored move for the Cavaliers; giving them a great rebounding center and some proper good defense.
However, another trade rumor that has slipped through the cracks is the potential deal between the Lakers and Cavs for Jordan Clarkson.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first broke the story that the Cavs and Lakers may be working out a deal for Clarkson; something Brian Windhorst piggybacked on, confirming the Cavaliers interest in Clarkson.

From the Cavaliers’ perspective, I am not too sure how much sense this deal makes. The last thing the Cavaliers need is another scoring guard, they need defense. And while Clarkson is not a bad defender, he certainly would not be some sort of savior for Cleveland.
Plus, these reports first surfaced before Kevin Love broke his hand. If this deal were to transpire, it would have to include Channing Frye to make it worth it for the Lakers. Again: salary cap space. Now, with Love out up to two months, the Cavs do not have that flexibility at power forward.
Of course, Randle could be thrown into the deal but that would only cause more contract complications. Josh Hart would be another option too for his good defense off the bench. That is a lot for the Lakers to give up, the Cavs may not have the pieces to make it worthwhile.

Still, it is an interesting storyline to watch. We already gave three reasons why Clarkson should be traded to the Cavs; if the price is right, these Lakers trade rumors are more than possible.
