Lakers trade rumors: Four players worth trading Julius Randle for
By Jason Reed
Marcus Smart (and friends)
This deal is not focused on one incoming player like the previous three. Instead, the Lakers could get quite the intriguing trade package from the Celtics for the two guys involved in Lakers trade rumors the most; Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle.

Before the Celtics dealt Avery Bradley to the Detroit Pistons, the two sides reportedly discussed a Randle for Bradley swap. Although the Celtics did get Marcus Morris, that interest is there.
That is what makes this trade package possible. Los Angeles will send the Boston Celtics Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and their 2018 second round pick. In return, the Celtics will send either the Lakers original pick back to LA or Boston’s, whichever is highest. The Celtics get the Lakers pick if it 2-5. If not, LA gets the Celtics pick
That part is certainly a gamble, but the return does not stop there. Los Angeles would receive Marcus Morris, Aron Baynes and Marcus Smart.
The Celtics can afford to send two big men for one with the addition of Greg Monroe at center. Randle is better than both Morris and Baynes and would give the Celtics the deepest frontcourt in basketball; something that is needed to defeat the Golden State Warriors.
Boston also gets an upgrade behind in the backcourt. Jordan Clarkson is better than Marcus Smart and brings great bench scoring. Los Angeles does not lose much depth, gets a draft pick and frees up money next year.
