Sixth and Seventh Rounds:

  • Original pick (189 overall): Tanzel Smart, DT, Tulane
  • New pick: Jordan Evans, LB, Oklahoma

Because the Los Angeles Rams would not have selected Ebukam in the fourth round, the team would need to address the linebacking depth later in the draft. Instead of selecting another defensive lineman, then, the Rams would be best suited to select a talent like Jordan Evans.

Evans saw some decent playing time with the Bengals in his rookie year for being a sixth-round pick. The inside linebacker recorded 38 tackles and three pass deflections for the Bengals in 15 games played.

Original pick (206 overall): Sam Rogers, FB, Virginia Tech

New pick: Sam Rogers, FB, Virginia Tech

For the second time in our redrafting, the Los Angeles Rams made the right choice. While Sam Rogers still did not have a huge impact, he was the best available pick for the Rams with the 206 overall selection. If it is not broken, don’t fix it.

While Rogers did not record any statistics last season, he does give the team a good look at fullback moving forward and will have a special team presence. Out of a sixth-round pick, what more could you really expect?

  • Original pick (234 overall): Ejuan Price, LB, Pittsburgh

  • New pick: Joshua Holsey, CB, Auburn

Neither Ejuan Price nor Joshua Holsey really did much for either of their teams last season. Price made just one appearance for the Rams and did not do anything, no tackles, nothing. Holsey appeared in 12 games for the Redskins (on special teams) making two tackles and recovering one fumble.

This is not a case of either player being better, as neither really did anything. Instead, though, I would argue that secondary depth was more needed for the Rams than picking up another linebacker. Thus, at least in my mind, Holsey would have been the better choice.

Overall, JuJu-Smith Schuster was the only new addition to this draft that would have had a really big impact. The rest, well, they would have at least plugged other holes that needed to be filled. What else can you really expect without a first-round draft pick?
