3. The distractions of his father may become too much of a burden

Personally, I am not the biggest fan of this reason. I think it is a frivolous thought that an NBA team would part ways with a player because of their father. Everyone knows how crazy supportive parents can be; we just have never seen a parent with this much spotlight thrown on him.

However, as we said earlier, that has not stopped some of the biggest NBA analysts from proposing a “he goes or we don’t come” scenario with the biggest stars in the Lakers rumors. And you know, it should be at least considered. Why would LeBron want to come play with Lonzo, whose dad he has already exchanged comments with?

Would someone like Paul George really want to come to the Lakers only to hear LaVar Ball tell the media that it is all George’s fault if the Lakers do not succeed? Again, I hope that the NBA is passed that kind of unprofessionalism, but it is something to be considered nonetheless.

Lonzo has not been the best at detracting his father’s comments. After LaVar stated that Lonzo will not re-sign with any NBA team unless the team signs his brothers, Lonzo simply said, “Like I said, I always just play. He always talks. It’s always been the same way.”

At the end of the day,  it would still surprise me if the Los Angeles Lakers did decide to move on from Lonzo Ball. However, as time goes on, I am realizing that it is not out of the realm of possibility.
