9. De’Aaron Fox

Lonzo Ball’s biggest rival coming out of college, some hopped on the De’Aaron Fox bandwagon early in the season after Ball’s early struggles. The Sacramento Kings selected Fox with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Fox has been solid and with his potential was worth that pick, however, he fails to stick out too much in a stacked NBA Draft class.

Fox’ lateral quickness allows him to explode to the basket and finish in a multitude of ways, a play style that is perhaps prone to injury. His shooting is good, not the best. He shoots 41.4 percent from the field and 34.2 percent from beyond the arc.

If Fox wants to develop into this all-around guard with all-star capabilities, which he is definitely capable of, he is going to need to develop a better three-point shot. This has helped Lonzo Ball immensely over the last few weeks and would turn Fox into a much bigger threat. Once that happens, I am a firm believer that Fox can score over 20 per game.

Fox has all the intangibles to be a great power forward for the rest of his careers. Playing on the Kings in his rookie year probably hurts his production. Mirror that with the rest of the great rookies this year and Fox may have fallen off the pedestal a bit.

However, I would not worry Kings fans, Fox is going to be just fine. This season though, he is only the ninth-best rookie.
