Chargers free agent target: DT Ndamukong Suh
We touched on this before, but Ndamukong Suh would be an absolutely huge pickup for the Los Angeles Chargers. Suh was released by the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday after the Dolphins were unable to find a trade suitor for Suh.

The reason why the Dolphins wanted to part ways with Suh, and ultimately the reason why no deal was made, was due to the money owed. The Dolphins were set to pay Suh just under $17 million over the next two seasons with a potential out after 2019.
Suh’s value on the market certainly is not going to be that of $17 million, the amount he was set to make this season. If he was, teams would have eaten the contract because of his production. On the open market, Suh’s price tag is likely in the $10-13 million yearly range.
Like with Tyrann Mathieu, that will take up most of the Chargers remaining cap space, however, it would be for a great cause.
Suh only adds to an already tremendous pass-rush that would be the best in the NFL with Suh alongside Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram and Corey Liuget.
Los Angeles needs a powerful nose tackle to help the efforts in the run game as well. Although rushing the passer is Suh’s bread and butter, his help in stopping the run defense would be apparent. Plus, this allows LA to use a first-round pick on a middle linebacker instead of a nose tackle. Win-win.

Ultimately, if teams are willing to pay Suh close to what he was going to make in Miami then the Chargers may have no real shot. However, if that price tag is indeed lowered, I ask you the question: why not? Take a shot. Win a ring.
