The LA Rams have done all they could this offseason to create a perennial Super Bowl contender. Taking it one step further, could the Rams be literally perfect?

The LA Rams won the 2018 NFL offseason. Period.

While there may be some bias in that statement, the LA Rams have done wonderfully this offseason. There may have been some sacrifices along the way but the Rams built a scary-good team on top of a team that was already the best in the NFC West.

Les Snead added to Pro Bowl corners in the secondary in Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib; leaving Casey Hayward and Chris Harris Jr. as two best corners left in the AFC West. Snead also added Pro Bowl defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and promising young receiver Brandin Cooks; who has caught for over 1000 yards the last three seasons.

Now, the Rams are left with very little to worry about. Extending Aaron Donald is still on the table, however, after this myriad of moves, it seems highly unlikely that Donald will walk away. Aside from that, the Rams only true area of emphasis is at linebacker and tight end.

And while those two positions may not be perfect, they are not awful. The team is young in both positions with only room for growth. Add a third-round pick into the linebacker core and it should hold its own next season.

This team is scary. And while some superstitious fans may not want to hear about this, the discussion must be made; are the Rams capable of going 16-0.

Yes.

This does not mean that the LA Rams will go undefeated, however, they have the best shot to do so since the New England Patriots did in 2007. Not only do the Rams have a better shot at repeating the feat than past teams, I would say the floor for this team is 14-2. This team is that good.

More from LA Sports Hub

LA easily has the best interior line in football and may even have a more talented defensive line than the Eagles; if not, easily a top-two, top-three unit. The secondary may be the best in football and the offense was already stacked.

Todd Gurley is the best running back in football and an MVP candidate. Jared Goff is a young gunslinger that is only going to get better. Cooks replaces — and is a better fit than — Sammy Watkins on offense. John Sullivan was brought back to shore up the offensive line. Sean McVay was the 2017-18 Coach of the Year. Gurley was the Offensive Player, Donald the Defensive Player.

The Rams have some tough games, that is without question. While there are a few that may be up in the air, it is hard to see the Rams not being favorited in any of these matchups. Again, that does not mean anything in the win-loss column.

Aside from the six games against the NFC West (the 49ers providing the only threat), the Rams play the Vikings, Packers, Eagles, Chargers and Chiefs at home. Five playoff-caliber teams; luckily, in LA.

On the road, the Rams play the Bears, Lions, Saints, Raiders and Broncos. All but one of those (the Saints) should be a shoo-in. Realistically, the only two games I would question is the Eagles at home and the Saints on the road. If they lose those two toss-ups they hit that 14-2 floor.

This may be optimistic, this may be West Coast bias. However, I legitimately think the LA Rams have a great shot of going undefeated, barring some crazy unforeseen circumstance.

Next: Which offseason addition will have the biggest impact?

Some fans will agree, some will call me crazy and some will say I jinxed it. If the Rams do indeed go undefeated, though, just remember that you heard it here first.
