LA Rams: Way-too-early skill position projections for the 2018 season

Jared Goff had a great second-year in the league and was key in the LA Rams having the turnaround that they did. After a not-so-impressive rookie season, Goff completely flipped the script and gave fans a lot of promise about his future. While he was still outshined by Carson Wentz, Goff is easily in the fore front of the future of quarterbacks.
In 2018 we will likely see an increase in Goff’s statistical production but not a huge increase. The offense is very similar to last season, with Brandin Cooks replacing Sammy Watkins at wideout. Thus, Goff will see a slight rise in production, but nothing drastic.
In 15 games last season Goff threw for 3,804 yards with 28 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 15 games played. Over a 16 game period, the 4,200 yards and 30 touchdowns do not seem like a major increase.
However, Goff’s passing percentage is sure to rise as he is only getting smarter against NFL schemes. A six percent bump from 62.1 to 68 percent would be huge for Goff.
Overall, though, it is hard to see Goff taking any huge leaps to make himself an MVP candidate. This is definitely a Pro Bowl-caliber season, but with Todd Gurley still aside him, he will not have full reign over the offense like his peer, Carson Wentz.
