Here, the Los Angeles Clippers are essentially combining the trade packages from Chris Paul and Blake Griffin in order to reel in Kawhi Leonard. And quite frankly, it should be more than enough to make the Spurs pull the trigger on trading Leonard.

Tobias Harris is a great, young guard that averaged 19.3 points as a Clipper. While it would be a hit to see him go, he was not expected to play as good as he has after the Blake Griffin trade. In fact, some would argue that Harris has been better than Griffin since that trade.

Patrick Beverley is a solid point guard that is one of the best defending guards in the league. The Spurs are going to be looking for defense, especially if they are getting rid of Leonard. And while Beverley cannot guard superstar forwards like Leonard, he can guard elite guards.

With Avery Bradley currently on the team, the Clippers can afford that loss. It would take re-signing Bradley, but with Leonard potentially coming to LA, why would Bradley want to walk away?

Sam Dekker is a promising young prospect that the Clippers got in the Chris Paul deal. Although Dekker has a high ceiling, he has not fully reached his potential. Leave it to Gregg Popovich to make the most out of Dekker’s high ceiling.

Then there are two first-round picks. Asking for the Spurs pick is more of a courtesy request and it would not be terrible if the Clippers went without it. However, the Clippers can send the Spurs two low lottery picks in exchange for the 18th overall pick.

According to Tankathon, the Pistons and Clippers picks are good for the 12th and 13th spot. While that is not set in stone, the Spurs can draft two solid players in those slots or even package them to move up in the draft.

In return, the Clippers get Leonard, who is the perfect fit in LA. He is a hometown kid and can dictate how long his future as a Clipper will be. The entire reason the Clippers traded Blake Griffin was that they were uncertain of his contract.

If the team is uncertain of winning with Leonard, they can simply part ways after the season and fully commit to the rebuild and another process; DeAndre Jordan will be gone too and the team will have Lou Williams to dangle on the trade market.

If Leonard comes and makes the Clippers an instant title contender, well, they can finally commit to that max superstar; the face of the franchise that the team wanted Griffin to be.

Overall, it is hard to not get excited about the potential Clippers rumors around Kawhi Leonard. The Clippers are already reportedly eyeing a trade for Leonard. Now, it is just a matter of time if the front office capitalizes or not on the Clippers rumors.
