Third-round: Terrell Edmunds, S, Virginia Tech

Terrell Edmunds’ brother, Tremaine Edmunds, is one of the most highly touted prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft. Tremaine is a freak athlete that represents a new breed of middle linebacker in the NFL. He has the potential to instantly be a starter and could develop into one of the best linebackers in the game of football.

Terrell Edmunds has not received that much media attention. And while his brother will undoubtedly be off the board in the first ten picks, Terrell may find himself falling to the late third-round.

That is when the LA Rams step in and capitalize on Edmunds great athleticism and hard-hitting ability. Just like his brother, Terrell Edmunds is a great athlete and proved that at the NFL Combine. According to his NFL.com Draft Profile, Edmunds ran a 4.47 40-yard-dash with a 41.5 inch vertical and 134-inch broad jump.

The LA Rams do not need immediate safety help but it is something the team should be considering as early as the 2018 NFL Draft. Safety LaMarcus Joyner is on the franchise tag and could be walking after this season. Fellow safety John Johnson is good, but definitely could be better.

Edmunds could be a depth piece in his rookie year while he learns under Joyner and Wade Phillips to iron out his biggest kinks. A hard-hitter and good man-to-man coverage option, Edmunds needs to work on his football IQ as well as open-field tackling. Those are both problems that could be solved in year one; making Edmunds an intriguing playmaker to watch.
