The NFL Network does an annual Top 100 Players list, revealing a set of players every Monday. With 100-71 revealed, which LA Rams are still in the running?

The NFL Network releases a list of the top 100 players in the league every year. While this list is completely subjective, it is at least a fair measuring tool of the best players in the league. Thus far, with picks 100-71 revealed, the LA Rams have two representatives in cornerback Marcus Peters and left tackle Andrew Whitworth.

Peters has not taken a single snap as a Ram yet so this is a promising inclusion on this list. However, it could be argued that Peters, who is a top-five corner at his best, is ranked too low. After coming in as the 32nd best player in last year’s version of the list, Peters fell to 79th.

Whitworth was not on the list last year which was a bit of a surprise due to his impact in the league. However, this year, the veteran left tackle was named the 87th best player in football. Not too shabby.

The NFL Network still has not released picks 70-1. With that in mind, here are our predictions of who is left on that list from the Rams and where they should be ranked.

More from LA Sports Hub

Ndamukong Suh — 68th

A few seasons ago, Ndamukong Suh was one of the best defensive players in football. After moving to the Miami Dolphins, though, Suh’s production has taken a huge plunder. But still, Suh should be considered one of the best players in football due to his pure dominance when he is on his game.

This dominance is going to be even nastier alongside Aaron Donald. And while that should not raise his rating at all, it will make him susceptible for better statistical results.

Todd Gurley — 11th

Eleventh sounds about right for Todd Gurley’s ranking on this list and leaves a massive gap between Suh and the LA Rams’ next guy on the list in Todd Gurley.

Gurley is arguably on his way to becoming the best running back in the NFL, if he isn’t already that. Gurley was the only with over 2000 yards from scrimmage last season and he only played in 15 games. Were Gurley to not sit out week 17, a strong performance could have been enough to even render the MVP award.

There probably will be a handful of quarterbacks ahead of Gurley as well as some other impact players. One of these impact players being a teammate.

Aaron Donald  — 7th

There are only six players I would put ahead of Aaron Donald as the best player in football and none of them are defensive players. In order, the six that I would put ahead of Donald are Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Carson Wentz, Drew Brees, Antonio Brown and Russell Wilson.

Wilson is such an iffy one as well that I am not sure if he should even be over Donald. Donald is the best defensive player in football and it really is not even close. He is the reason why Suh is on the Rams in the first place.

Behind Donald and ahead of Gurley would probably be Le’Veon Bell, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, in that order. Again, this is all just my own speculation, but that top 11 looks spot on to me.

Next: Five Rams with the most to prove

Other notable LA Rams that missed out on this list, at least according to my calculations, are Jared Goff, Brandin Cooks and Aqib Talib. While I wish that there was space for Goff, with Jimmy Garoppolo being the 90th best player, I simply cannot see Goff cracking the top 70.
