1. Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos — Week 17 — Dec.30

By the time that week 17 rolls around the game itself may not even matter that much and this article may look ridiculous. If the Chargers do in fact win both the games mentioned before and put together a great year they should have the division locked down by week 17.

However, very few playoff situations are ever locked down by week 17 and there likely will be some pretty big implications. In week 17, the Chargers happen to play their biggest competition for the AFC West in the Denver Broncos.

While a lot of people would argue that it is the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chiefs underwent a quarterback change and lost some key pieces on defense that will hurt them. Their lack of consistency and sometimes questionable coaching will haunt them without Alex Smith under center. Thus, an 8-8 year seems to be in the cards for the Chiefs.

However, the Broncos added a quarterback in Case Keenum who should be good enough to allow the defense to carry the team. First-round pick Bradley Chubb is going to be terrifying alongside Von Miller and should be an early favorite to win the defensive rookie of the year award.

Again, there is a chance that the Chargers are 11-4 or 12-3 by this point and the Broncos are just 9-6, making the game not matter.

However, there is also a big possibility that the Chargers are 10-5 or 11-4 and the Broncos are only trailing by one game. If that is the case, this obviously becomes the biggest game of the season for both sides.
