This red-hot streak shouldn’t be a surprise, either, as Kemp was the player of the week last Friday in our weekly series. Not only was Kemp able to reclaim the throne, he was able to improve on what was already a fantastic week at the plate.
It is without question that Kemp has been the best hitter on the Dodgers and is arguably the best hitter in the National League. Kemp currently leads the NL in batting average (.343) and is second in batting average with runners in scoring position among qualified batters (.436).
Whether or not this hot streak is sustainable is unknown. Chances are that Kemp will not be able to replicate this kind of production for an entire season. If he does, he will once again be in MVP discussion.
However, there is no reason that Kemp cannot bat over .300. Right now, Kemp is on pace to hit 20 home runs and drive in 86 RBIs. As the Dodgers’ offense heats up, the RBI and home run total for Kemp may slightly rise.
But still, a .300 season with 20 home runs and at least 75 RBIs is phenomenal for Kemp, especially considering nobody expected him to even make the roster. Those are Corey Seager numbers!

Kemp’s red-hot bat will be huge in the upcoming three-game set with the Colorado Rockies. Kemp can have another great series hitting in Coors Field and can add to his home run total. If the Dodgers can manage a sweep of the Rockies they will trail the NL West lead by just 1.5 games.
