The Los Angeles Rams are looking to make a Super Bowl run with a new-look roster. Standing right in LA’s way is the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles.

The Los Angeles Rams have built a Super Bowl contender by adding established talent this offseason to an already stellar roster. Now, the team that was eliminated in the NFC Wild Card Game against the Atlanta Falcons looks poised to make a deep run into the playoffs.

Head coach Sean McVay looked like a genius in his first season as a head coach and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips continued to prove why he is one of the best in the game.

Todd Gurley is making the case to be the best running back in football and was an MVP candidate last season. Jared Goff is a very promising young quarterback that has already eclipsed 4000 passing yards. Aaron Donald is the best defensive player in football.

Take all of that and add the likes of Pro Bowl corners Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters, Pro Bowl defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and should-be Pro Bowler Brandin Cooks and the Los Angeles Rams are terrifyingly good — on paper.

One team that is definitely taking notice is the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. The path to the Super Bowl goes through Carson Wentz and the Eagles, who did not lose many pieces this offseason and look primed for another run with a healthy Wentz.

While the Eagles and their fans may be heading into the season full of confidence, the Los Angeles Rams have built the perfect team to defeat the Eagles and make the NFC their playing ground.

The Eagles excel on both sides of the ball, as the Rams should next season. The only true weakness in the Eagles’ is their secondary, which is susceptible to allowing big games from good quarterbacks.

And while Todd Gurley may be the heart of the offense, Jared Goff is no stranger to letting the ball loose and having a big game. With a solid receiving core that has plenty of options — and a ton of speed —Goff could torch the Eagles.

Defensively, the Rams are built to stop Wentz and the Eagles. While Wentz will still make plays happen because he is so talented, the Rams are going to put a ton of pressure on him with their insane defensive line.

With a refined secondary, the defensive line is going to have more time to get to the quarterback and wreck havoc. Philadelphia is going to have to try to slow the game down and run the ball against the Rams. That will only wear out the offensive line as they attempt to block both Donald and Suh inside.

With a coaching staff that knows what they are doing the Rams can properly dethrone the Eagles before their dynasty even gets started. Although the Patriots lost in the Super Bowl, they showed that the Eagles’ defense is indeed human.

The Patriots showed the gameplan to beat the Eagles and were probably one strip sack away from winning that game.

The Los Angeles Rams must follow that blueprint and utilize a very talented roster to overcome the Eagles. All eyes will be watching on Dec. 16 when the Rams host the Eagles and prove they are the new team to beat in the NFC.
