4. The Logo Dynasty (One title, nine appearances)

Although this version of a Lakers dynasty does not have as many rings as the Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol team, they were consistently one of the best teams in the NBA for an entire decade. Although they often came up short, that alone deserves some recognition and praise.

Heck, even before Jerry West was drafted to the Lakers Elgin Baylor carried the team to a finals appearance in the 1959 NBA Finals. While that one is not counting towards this dynasty, it means the Lakers were on an eight Finals losing streak before finally snapping that cold spell in the 1972 NBA Finals.

It took adding Wilt Chamberlain to the mix to finally win the title in 1972. Prior to that, the two-man super team of Baylor and West were unable to overcome the Boston Celtics. The only year that the Lakers did not lose to the Celtics was in 1970 when they were defeated by the New York Knicks.

However, the Lakers were unable to get their revenge on the Celtics as it was the Knicks that the team defeated in 1972.

This super team had the potential to win an upwards of six, seven or even eight championships. However, this team so happened to take place during the most dominant stretch in American sports history when the Celtics won 11 titles in 13 seasons.
