4. Denver Broncos

  • Quarterback depth chart: Case Keenum, Paxton Lynch, Chad Kelly

The revolving door of mediocre quarterbacks in Denver continues into next season as the Denver Broncos have brought in Case Keenum and 2017 NFL Draft “Mr. Irrelevant” Chad Kelly to replace Trevor Siemian and Brock Osweiler. I guess that is the price you have to pay after having Peyton Manning under center.

It is a bit ironic looking at the Broncos’ quarterback depth chart and how they all relate to each other; they are all guys John Elway is probably high on but won’t perform in games.

Lynch is slowly turning into a first-round bust as he has not panned out as Peyton Manning’s rightful successor and Chad Kelly did not even practice last season due to wrist surgery. Keenum was fine for the Minnesota Vikings last season but had shades of old Case Keenum come out in the NFC Championship Game.

He got bested by Nick Foles and despite leading the Vikings all season was replaced with Kirk Cousins, who the Denver Broncos initially wanted in free agency.

If Keenum plays at his best he will be decent enough to let the defense carry the Broncos to 17-10 wins on a weekly basis. However, even Keenum at his best is not going to be as good as the rest of the division.

The defense is pretty scary, though.
