3. People will start to recognize the Los Angeles Lakers’ bench as one of the best

I’ve said it since the Los Angeles Lakers made all the moves this offseason that the team has one of the best benches in basketball. Heck, Los Angeles may have the most talented bench in the league.

Some are questioning how much better this Lakers team will be with LeBron compared to the Cavaliers team from a year ago. In that regard, there should be no question, this supporting cast on the Lakers is far better than the Cavaliers.

More from LA Sports Hub

And while the Cavs did have another star in Kevin Love and made good trade deadline deals to get depth, those deals ultimately did not play out during the playoffs and exposed the Cavaliers’ bench as nothing more than three-point shooting.

The Lakers, on the other hand, have two young stars coming right off the bench that would be starters on most NBA teams. Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart are going to see a combined 55-60 minutes per game and will both give the Lakers double-digit scoring on a nightly basis off the bench.

Los Angeles also has Rajon Rondo as the backup point guard. And while some have questioned this move, he is going to be a huge help for Lonzo Ball and is going to give the Lakers a whole new dynamic in the playoffs.

We have all seen playoff Rondo before. He is terrifying, even at this stage of his career.

Los Angeles also has Lance Stephenson to cause havoc, a promising young center in Ivica Zubac and two sharpshooting rookies in Wagner and Mykhailiuk. The Lakers could legitimately field an 11-man rotation during the regular season and be perfectly fine.

I do not think a lot of people are recognizing how good this Lakers bench really is. With a breakout performance from Josh Hart and the rookies, people will start to take notice.
