Los Angeles Lakers: Ranking every post-LeBron James signing of the offseason
By Jason Reed
1. Rajon Rondo
Not everybody loves the Los Angeles Lakers signing Rajon Rondo and there are probably a ton of people that disagree with him being the best signing the Los Angeles Lakers have made. However, when you take a deep dive into what Rondo brings to the team, it is apparent his signing will be the most impactful for LA.

The main contention for signing Rondo is his lack of three-point shooting. It is general knowledge that LeBron James thrives the most when he is surrounded with great shooters to distribute the ball to. Rondo is not a great shooter, at all.
However, Rondo is a great playmaker that is going to come in and be a great veteran presence for this young Lakers team. Most importantly, he is going to be a great player to play alongside Lonzo Ball.
Rondo finally presents a challenge to Ball that he did not have on the Lakers in year one. Rondo is certainly going to be challenging Ball for the starting spot and is going to be pushing the second-year point guard to play at his absolute highest level.
Since the two are so similar as well, Ball is going to naturally learn a lot from the veteran point guard that will help him blossom and fill the massive ceiling that he has. Not only is Rondo making him better now, he is making his overall career better.
Plus, Rondo takes some of the facilitating pressure off of Ball and LeBron, which is huge as LeBron reportedly wants to play more off-ball in the future.
Signing Rajon Rondo was an extremely smart move by the Los Angeles Lakers front office. So much so that it is the best post-LeBron move the team has made.
