Brandon Ingram — Most Improved Player

Brandon Ingram winning the NBA’s Most Improved Player award next season may not be as likely as LeBron winning MVP or Kuzma winning the Sixth Man of the Year. However, if Ingram puts in a good season and makes the expected leap to all-star caliber next season, he will be an easy choice for the award.

More from LA Sports Hub

Victor Oladipo won the award last season and really set the blueprint for how Ingram can win the award next season.

Oladipo was always a solid player, however, he never took that expected leap with the Orlando Magic or Oklahoma City Thunder; perhaps due to Russell Westbrook. However, after being dealt to the Indiana Pacers for Paul George, which at the time seemed like a terrible deal for Indiana, Oladipo really blossomed into a special player.

He was arguably better than Paul George last season. That is how good he was and how great the trade was for the Pacers.

Ingram had a good season last year for the Lakers that could have been a great season if he was healthy. The second-year forward already showed a pretty big leap in year two, making the leap in year three much more likely.

Ingram is going to be a much better player alongside LeBron James and is going to emerge as his right-hand man and the true second scoring option.

And in the process he is going to score at least 20 points per game, may be named an all-star and will be a frontrunner for Most Improved Player.
