Los Angeles Lakers: Bold predictions for Brandon Ingram next season
By Jason Reed
1. Brandon Ingram will score at least 20 points per game
Brandon Ingram has been making natural progressions in his game that is going to undoubtedly lead to yet another uptick in production next season. Not only is he getting bigger, stronger and smarter, Ingram is going to have a lot of help alongside two playmakers in Lonzo Ball and LeBron James.
Because of this, and due to the fact that Ingram is likely going to be the number two scoring option behind James, we are going to see his points per game jump to over 20 per game.
Even without James, this jump may have occurred. Ingram jumped from 9.4 points to 16.1 points per game in just the matter of one season. That is nearly a seven-point jump, making the four extra points needed to get to 20 seem minuscule.
Most importantly, Ingram is extremely effective from the court and that is going to bode excellently for a scorer that is going to spend time both on and off ball. Ingram shot 47 percent from the field last year as he carved himself out to be a good scorer at the rim and a great scorer from mid-range.
Watching Ingram alongside the rest of the Lakers’ roster is going to be extremely fun next season. When it is all said and done, Ingram will surpass the 1,640 point mark to get his per-game average to 20 or more.
